1.AIRPORT CLEARING CLERKS
No of positions: 2
Location: Nairobi

Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with Import/Export department in regard to cargo received at Dispatch;
2. Check and verify goods received comply with ICRC quality requirements;
3. Physically load packages and prepare Waybills;
4. Deliver cargo to the Airport handling agents and ensure all documents are signed;
5.Handling of all Airport Dispatch operations for commercial and Red flights:
6.Create and approve loads in JDE attaching all shipments per load plan:
7. Handling of dangerous goods (DGR) in dispatch warehouse and offload at JKIA ensuring proper labelling and markings;
8. Ensure proper filling of all documents related to cargo;
9. Participates in all Inventory Counts and reconciliation under dispatch warehouse;

Minimum Requirements:

1.Diploma /Degree in stores management/clearing and forwarding or its equivalent.
2.At least 2 years relevant experience in a similar field.
3.Knowledge of Airport operations is an asset.
4.Excellent Computer skills.
5.Minimum of Diploma in clearing and freight forwarding.
6.Understanding of the Asycuda system.

2.CLEARING & FORWARDING MANAGER

Location: Nairobi

Responsibilities:
1) To fully understand the various clearance services offered by the company which includes Imports, Exports, Transport, Warehousing, freight forwarding, etc.
2) Strong analytical and mathematical skills for preparation of quotations.
3) Market analysis of Import and Export data and trends for use in business development and new sales generation.
4) Preparation and control of budgets as well as Operational costs for maximizing of profits.
5) Ability to calculate revenue and costing for all cargo handled in order to get the profitability of the same.
6) Design and development of the business forecast reports
7) Bond management and licensing procedures.
8) Knowledge of the application of the local & Regional Customs Laws ( EACCMA & CAP 472)
9) Excellent knowledge of the Customs and Excise HS codes and Explanatory notes
10) Ability to prepare a sales and forecast pipeline for use in business development and growth.
11) Understanding Warehousing systems
12) Understanding of the SIMBA ( Tradex )- Kenya, Asycuda – Uganda and TANCIS- TZ Customs systems
13) Control of all budgets as well as operational costs.
14) Sales search and achievement for the company as per the agreed goals and targets.
15) To maintain a sales pipeline based on target and existing clients.

Minimum Requirements:
1) University Degree + Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding or a related Field.
2) East Africa Customs Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate (EACFFPC) Certificate from Kenya School of Revenue.
3) 5 years’ relevant experience in a busy Customs clearance company in a managerial or Supervisory role.
4) Must have dealt with shipping lines, airlines and other suppliers & stakeholders.
5) Bond Management Experience and knowledge of the various EAC bonds.

Purpose of the Position

In an attempt to capture the high-end clientele, Modern Mail recently launched a new product in the market that is a hit. The product is a first in Kenya and therefore it would be an easy item to sell to customers. We are therefore looking for sales executives that will sell this product in the market so as to achieve set targets.

Responsibilities

1. Along with sales planning, this position is responsible for accurate forecasting.
2. Be direct contact for customers.
3. Defines, communicates and implements the Go to Market strategy for the allocated segment to ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded in the marketplace.
4. Builds executive relationships within client base - create the demand and leads customer discussions to advance the sales process.
5. Ensures a high degree of Customer satisfaction with our services.
6. Develops and delivers accurate revenue forecasts in line with business objectives.
7. Focus on client relationship management and customer satisfaction within the account.
8. Works independently, also may act as virtual team leader and/or mentor.
9. Plans specific sales activities including forecasting and organization of resource requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
1.3 +years sales experience in courier or logistics industry.
2.Bachelor’s Degree in a sales related field
3.In-depth knowledge of courier business in Kenya.
4.Strong business acumen.
5.Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
6.Willingness to travel local and within East Africa depending on customer requirements.
7.Fluent written and verbal communication in both English and Swahili.
